Keswick's position close to the centre of the Lake District National Park gives you easy access to score of attractions, historic houses, beautiful gardens and endless outdoor activities for all ages and abilities.

Locally, you can take a cruise on Derwentwater, or row yourself around the beautiful islands on the lake. The Theatre by the Lake has received fabulous reviews and provides a wide and varied choice of productions as well as a gallery.

In the centre of Keswick is the famous Cars of the Stars Museum, where you can view cars from such famous films as THe Bond Movies, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Back to the Future.

The Lakes are often referred to as being a walkers paradise, and you couldn't have a better starting point than from Scotgate.

Scotgate is surrounded by magnificent walking country and the fells ringing the nearby valleys of Borrowdale and Newlands provide some of the best mountain walks in the country.

For those who prefer the water, Bassenthwaite has facilities for fishing and sailing while Derwentwater has rowing boats for hire and launch trips around the lake.

Pony trekking and tennis are also available nearby, and a challenging golf course at Keswick. Keswick itself is only two miles away. This bustling little town with a breathtaking setting is one of the gems of Lakeland. It's attractions include a variety of fascinating shops and the world's biggest pencil at the Cumberland Pencil Museum. Not much further away are three of the Lake District's most famous historic sites - the mysterious stone circle at Castlerigg, the house where Wordsworth was born at Cockermouth, and the grave of huntsman John Peel at Caldbeck.
